This is to everyone who takes offense to stupid things.

It is reported that President Brigham Young once said that he who takes offense when no offense was intended is a fool, and he who takes offense when offense was intended is usually a fool.

It was then explained that there are two courses of action to follow when one is bitten by a rattlesnake. One may, in anger, fear, or vengefulness, pursue the creature and kill it. Or he may make full haste to get the venom out of his system. If we pursue the latter course we will likely survive, but if we attempt to follow the former, we may not be around long enough to finish it. (Marion D. Hanks, "Forgiveness: The Ultimate Form of Love," Ensign, Jan. 1974, 20)

“We should be too big to take offense and too noble to give it.” -Abraham Lincoln

“Whenever anyone has offended me, I try to raise my soul so high that the offense cannot reach it” -Rene Descartes

“Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous, love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offense, and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes. Love does not come to an end.” -Bible
