U.S. Open Time!

It's that wonderful time of the year! The US. Open is finally here! My man Roddick is doing pretty well, he's already defeated Gimelstob and Acasuso! Both in 3 set matches, although I suppose Acasuso retiring early doesn't quite count no matter!

I attempted this recipe from I love milk and cookies the other day. It was delicious, although mine wasn't quite as pretty! Considering I had to convert it from metric to standard I'm pretty proud!

Caramel Apple Pudding
from Delicious Magazine July 2005
serves 6

5 large golden delicious or Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, sliced ½cm thick
1 2/3 cups (250g) plain all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
180g unrefined caster sugar
200ml milk
150g unsalted butter, melted
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup (200g) light muscovado sugar or light brown sugar
½ cup (125ml) golden syrup
Icing sugar and thick cream, to serve

Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Lightly butter a 2.5-litre baking dish.
Place apples in the prepared dish.
Sift flour and baking powder into the bowl of an electric mixer, add caster sugar, milk, butter and egg, then beat until pale.
Spread mixture over the apples.
Place muscovado or brown sugar, golden syrup and 300ml water in a saucepan.
Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves, then bring to the boil without stirring.
Pour over the pudding batter, then bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden.
Dust with icing sugar and serve with cream.

I love all Cavallini and Co. products, I have the calenders, stamps, notecards, journals, and even the clothspins! Especially the Journals (which are leather and have unlined pages, a must for me.)and Calenders which feature vintage pictures from travel ads or flower prints! You can find their products and Barnes and Noble, Borders, and Anthropologie.

Help Please!

Does anybody know any great chocolate cake recipes? I'm trying to make a 2 layer cake that I actually like! Fairly Simple hopefully, I'm guaranteed to make even never fail cake fail!

Do you ever...

Sometimes I get sick of my own music, but want to find something similar to my taste! I found Pandora though! You create your own stations by using a song or artist you like and pandora will find music in the same genre or that has similar musical stylings. It's a hit or miss process, but you can tell Pandora if you'd rather not hear a song again or if you're ecstatic about it.

I consider myself tagged.

8. I love watches, I have way to many! I think the count was up to 16.
7. I love to make and decorate sugar cookies- but ughh, rolling out the scraps gets really old fast!
