Tiger
Genera and species: Panthera tigris
Collective Term: A bolt of tigers
Description
Tigers are handsome and powerful people with an innate self-confidence and elegance. There's a sense of immediacy and an aura of electricity that surrounds it, and when it walks into a room, something always seems about to happen. Consider the classic tiger personality of F. Lee Bailey. He expresses himself with the confidence of one who expects his orders to be unquestionably followed, and his autocratic style demands respect and commands fear. For once a tiger has found its groove, it focuses on its goal with a brightly burning intensity. Male tigers, when out of their element, are sometimes mistaken for beefcake. But when you see them in their offices wearing their power suits, you realize that you're dealing with incisive, authoritarian individuals.

As a nocturnal hunter the tiger is equipped with a great deal of street sense. Able to read people's motivations and assess situations quickly, it is blunt and to the point, commanding attention with just a whisper or a raising of its eyebrow. It demands respect and commands fear. Unlike their cat relatives, tigers enjoy sports of all kinds, with a particular affinity for water sports. They are often seen in the company of river dolphins and sea lions on a casual and socially limited basis.

With a need to dominate their partners, their passionate advances can often be too intense for those fainthearted partners, so they must choose their lovers wisely. Because of their propensity for solitude, they avoid long-lasting relationships and place little value on fidelity -- proving to be unsettled and promiscuous.

Marry it? Yes. Tame it? Never! It's hard to put one's finger on why the tiger struggles to settle down, but one theory has it that the tiger views marriage as a threat to its independence. But their emotional detachment should not be confused with a desire to avoid intimacy; for intimacy is the tiger's greatest sensual tool. By offering its lover its deeply held secrets, it adds another dimension of eroticism to its lovemaking.

However, those tigers that have been married for a while will tell you that matrimony can be quite agreeable. Perhaps then, it's their impossible search for the perfect partner that keeps them on the prowl, although more than likely, we'll never understand the dark forces that frame its fearful symmetry.

My mother posted this quiz on her blog! I was pretty surprised to see how accurate it was. My mother calls my loyalty mafia-esque! Oddly enough the runner-up was penguin, elephant, or fox. Take the quiz here.

712 Pizzeria

I had lunch at 712 Pizzeria today, and it was pretty delicious! The mixed green salad was amazing with blue cheese and roasted squash! And my basil, roasted tomato, and pulled mozzarella panini was amazing. I also love the mozzarella and basil pizza!

Matchy Matchy.

I really hate it when people overmatch- you know the type: If there handbag is pink, then their headband is pink, their shoes are pink, even their belt is pink. It's way too much, and usually you end up looking like a 1st grader or worse the Hilton sisters.

Sweet Candy!

I'm loving Valentine's candy this year, mostly sugar coated cinnamon hearts. Melissa turned me on to them. I'm usually a chocolate person, but the Sweet Candy company makes them so well; plus it is a local company, made right here in salt lake city!

Totally obsessed.

No matter what I do I seem unable to keep away from Kneader's. Whether it be a sandwich, a double fudge brownie, or a loaf of warm sliced bread. My obsession of the week.

So for lack of better creative ideas I'm going to copy everybody else and do a list of loves.

!. Arrested Development Reruns- Comic gold, whoever cancelled this show is an idiot.

@. At work tomorrow I'm going to be blissfully alone, which means I can get everything done that I'm behind on with no interruptions! (This means you Kent!)

#. That Melissa posted a million things, so I couldn't be bored by every body's lack of blog.

$. My Ukulele, if only it weren't so blasted hard to tune.

%. CNN using the word Sub-prime over 67 times, really. I realize that it's the word of 2007, but it's 2008 let's move on. I love it when the Media looks weak and unoriginal.

^.I mean, c'mon is there anything better?

&. My new white petal, plum, and vanilla spice oil scents from the Body Shop, they make my room smell so good.

*.Lunch breaks, I don't usually take one but every once in awhile they are desperately needed.

(. My vintage prints calendars, they came in very handy when Nat and I needed some artwork on our walls.

). I can watch episodes on NBC, ABC, or FOX when I'm at work for hours stuffing envelopes.

The Blower's Daughter

I absolutely love Damien Rice, espcially The Blower's Daughter, and Natalie Portman can do no wrong in my eyes! She is like the American Version of Kate Winslet- flawless.

Time for Tag!

Favorite Month of the year:
Probably August, it sounds the prettiest. Also summer is winding down and the mountain tops become twinged with yellow, orange, and red. It just reminds me of Raspberry Lemonade and Barbeque's.

Favorite Holiday & Why:
Fourth of July, I like that there is no gift giving and it's kind of like a grown ups new years- you still party, but there is better food and you are with your family! Who can forget the fireworks!

Do you like Storms:
Love them, every time there is lightening at night I open up my blinds and just stare out at it, I love the rolling sound thunder makes. I don't love snow storms, that just means some serious car scraping later! This used to make Melissa crazy when we shared a room. She was deathly afraid of them.

Indoors or Outdoors:
Probably indoors, nature is something I appreciate from afar. I do like to go outside in a summer rainstorm. When it's still warm enough not to freeze when you get soaked.

Favorite Season:
I really love end of summer or beginning of fall. The end of summer to me is like The Great Gatsby

People I tag: Melissa Neslen, Brittany, and Mom

My new favorite thing!

It's really tough to find a healthy snack that I actually like! That's why I love Laughing Cow Spreadable Cheese! It's so incredibly delicious! I love it on my toast or crackers. Best of all, it only has about 30 calories, and you really cannot tell it's light!

M is for married!

My lovely little sister Melissa is a married woman, and she was such a beautiful bride! And even though she posted a picture of me eating on her blog I will only post pretty pictures of her! And before you ask, not I don't care that she got married before me, I just miss her a little!

Birthday Wish!

The Utah Presidential Primary is on February 5, 2008 (my birthday) this year and I hope you will all go out and vote. If not for yourselves do it for my birthday! You can register to vote or find your location to vote on www.utah.gov or you can contact the Utah Clerk at (801) 851-8128 for further information.

My plans for Two-thousand Greight!

Some of my goals for 2008:

Year:
Be a Better Blogger! Sometimes I'm not very faithful to my blogging and my subject material is sometimes really lame. Fear not, I am aware of it. I'm gonna be the best blogger I can be.
Take vitamins everyday, least of all so my mother will stop telling me too constantly.
Get up to a play or concert once a month in SLC.
Do the dishes daily to avoid pile up.

Spring: Gardening-plant flowers with my mother, go boating and wake board successfully, find something to hang on that hook in my ceiling.

Summer: Hike the Y Mountain, Go see Timpanogos cave, and hike Stewart Falls, play tennis at least once a week, catch a fish at lake Powell.

Autumn: Rake leaves. I haven't done that since I was a kid. I'd also like to go up the canyon and collect the really outstanding leaves.

Winter: Do some activity in the snow even though I thoroughly despise it.

I heart Sweeney Todd.

Never before has the Demon Barber of Fleet Street been so attractive. I've never been a Tim Burton fan, or for that matter Johnny Depp, After seeing Sweeney Todd I've come around. Nobody was more amazed that Johnny Depp could pull off a Stephen Sondheim, who has been known to write very difficult male parts, score more than myself. The rest of the cast is outstanding as well: Helena Bonham-Carter, Alan Rickman, Ed Sanders, Jamie Campbell Bower, Jayne Wisener, and Sacha Baron Cohen.

Loved it!

Saw Juno over the break. Loved, loved, loved it! Ellen Page is great, and I always love Michael Cera and Jason Bateman! Great writing, and obviously I loved the casting. The Director is a genius! The story is also heartwarming. Warning: It is a little off color for those of you who don't like that!

Yummy!

I blogged about this bag back in October! Well now it's mine! It looks amazing in person, thanks Santa! Dreamy...
